Mr. Dan Watts

Congratulations to the 8.5 homeroom for placing first in the BCAS door decorating contest.  The contest was a PBIS event to promote positive behavior.  The theme of the door is using positive behavior to take you far in the world.

Dear Parents:

I am your child's English/Language Arts teacher for 6th, 7th, or 8th grade.  I am delighted to begin the year with such a wonderful group of students, and I look forward to a very successful year.  I have high expectations for your child, and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations.

In this classroom, we seek to build a community of learners and teachers that share, participate in activities, and work as a team.  Above all else, active listening and respect for others are important as we make our journey through this new grade.

I expect all work assigned in class to be completed.  If your child does not complete an assignment in class, he or she will be required to complete it at home.  I frequently use the child's agenda to communicate behavior information as well as academic information to parents.  I encourage you to read the agenda each day to make sure assignments are complete.

In addition, I will be assigning projects throughout the school year.  Your child will have to complete much of these projects at home.  Your help and support will not only make your child more successful, but will instill good study habits that will last a lifetime.

I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you.  I am available every day to talk with you between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Please don't hesitate to contact me at 706-554-8046 or if you have any questions or concerns during the year.
