Attendance calls are made to parents when their student is absent from school. Each school is set up to send attendance calls at different times (see FAQs below for times). If your child is marked with an unverified absence at the time the attendance data is pulled, you will receive a call or email.
Attendance calls are made for the safety of your child. If you think your child is in school and he/she is actually not, we want to find out where he/she is as quickly as possible. If you know your child is not in school because he/she is home sick or has an appointment for the day, you can call the school and/or email your child's teacher as soon as possible and let the school know your child is out that day. Email addresses can be found on the school website by selecting Faculty and Staff and then Staff Directory or on the BCPS App by selecting the Campus Directory category.
