PLAY Cards

As part of a collaboration between Burke County Public Schools, Georgia Library Public Information Network for Electronic Services (PINES), and the Greater Clarks Hill Regional Library System, all students are offered a free PINES Library Access for Youth (PLAY) Card account. The PLAY Card account provides each student with access to thousands of online resources from the public library and the ability to check out books from any library branch in the network.
 
Benefits Online:
  • Search the PINES library catalog of over 11 million items for books, DVDs, audiobooks, and other materials at over 300 libraries across Georgia.
  • Place items on hold for free delivery to your library branch of choice.
  • Store lists of books you’ve read and would like to read.
  • Check out downloadable ebooks and audiobooks (high school students only)
  • Access digital resources provided by your local library.
 
Benefits In-Person At Library:
  • Check out up to five items at a time (books, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.).
  • Pay no late fines! (*fees apply only for lost or damaged items)
  • Ask expert library staff for book recommendations.
  • Pick up books you’ve had delivered from other PINES libraries.
  • Enroll in classes and programs offered by your local library, including summer reading programs and tutoring services.
From the student's chromebook (beginning Dec 22)
  1. Open the student's ClassLink dashboard and select the PINES Public Library icon.
  2. Enter the username.
    The username is BUR and the student's ID number.
    BUR must be capitalized.
    Example: The student's ID is 123456.  You will type in BUR123456.
  3. Enter the password
    The password is the student's 2-digit birth month and 4-digit birth year (MMYYYY) with no spaces.
    Example: The student's birthdate is August 24, 2010.  You will type in 082010.
From anywhere:
  1. Visit the PINES Account Login Page.
  2. Enter the username.
    The username is BUR and the student's ID number.
    BUR must be capitalized.
    Example: The student's ID is 123456.  You will type in BUR123456.
  3. Enter the password
    The password is the student's 2-digit birth month and 4-digit birth year (MMYYYY) with no spaces.
    Example: The student's birthdate is August 24, 2010.  You will type in 082010.
The PLAY Card is only an account.  No physical card will be given to students.

Please go to the circulation desk to check out an item while at the library.
The library card number will be BUR and the student's ID number (often called the lunch number).
