BCPS Summer Feeding Program begins May 29, 2018

Burke County Public Schools (BCPS) will begin the Summer Feeding Program on Tuesday, May 29. Lunches will be provided to children 18 years of age and younger throughout Burke County and will be delivered by school buses to more than 150 sites all over the county, Monday-Friday, through July 27. The only exceptions will be July 4 and 18.

BCHS Class of 2019 Senior Picture Information

Please call 912-764-4222 by July 5th to schedule your Senior pictures. If there is not an answer, please leave a message with your name and number, and the photographer will return your call. If you would like something customized, please ask when you call. If you do not schedule by July 5th, you will have to schedule an appointment at the studio in Statesboro, Georgia.

“The Burke County Board of Education is currently soliciting proposals, not sealed bids, for Commercial Package Insurance Coverages with a policy term of 12 months commencing August 1, 2018.

The deadline for submission of proposals is July 3, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, in part or in whole, to waive minor irregularities, technicalities, and/or informalities in proposing, and to award a contract deemed to be in the best interest of the Board. If no acceptable proposal is received the Board also reserves the right to re-solicit proposals, at its sole discretion.”

Annual Asbestos Plan Notification

The Burke County Board of Education AHERA Management Plan is available for public inspection upon request at the Burke County Board of Education Central Office. This notification is provided to fulfill the requirement of Section 763.93(4) of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act, 40 CFR Part 763, October 30, 1987. All interested parents, teachers, employees or other persons may review the plan, which includes the following items:

1. Location, amounts and types of asbestos containing materials.
2. Response actions to the asbestos containing materials.
3. Plans for re-inspection and periodic surveillance.
4. Public notification procedures.
