All students residing in Burke County will receive free meals every week day until Friday, April 3. Meals will be delivered on buses, using regular bus routes, and can be picked up at Blakeney Elementary School between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Children must be present to pick up meals. Children are not required to sit on the school bus to eat their meal.
Again, all students 18 years of age and under, from both public and private schools, are allowed free breakfast, lunch, and dinner every week day.
In response to the executive order issued by Governor Brian Kemp, the Burke County Public School District will remain closed through April 24, 2020. Students may return to school on Monday, April 27, 2020.
In response to the threat of COVID-19, our teachers have provided distance learning activities in both digital and paper/pencil form so that your child can continue to learn from home. Our teachers will be more than willing to talk with you and to assist with any academic questions you may have while we are away from school.
At this time there are no confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Burke County. Learn how you can help prevent the spread of germs that cause these types of illnesses.
