literacy is a currency for learning all other subjects this is a collective impact project for many years in our County we've had almost a flatline when it comes to graduates who have the skills that I need to read proficiently in college and career we have some very smart kid. In the district but there were a lot of gaps face and so I'm super excited. all the students back in the building face-to-face you guys laid the groundwork for why literacy is so important and how it impacts all aspects of life not only in school but also outside of school once they leave us we're going to prepare our students to move forward since we've had issues in the past with students needed that extra help from us by us using this program I feel like this is what our students need and Order go to be more successful what is the speaker beginning to recognize Micaiah for us in kindergarten the literacy project honestly starts here I mean we are at the foundation where the first exposure that they get to literacy to reading thumbing our love for what we do is how they kind of go through how they View School how they reading says it's not something that we make fun if it's not something that we have them kind of take ownership for then it's not something that they're going to feel is important for them implementation for us has been steady we but once we kind of got our footing we have continued to move and I think growing that process very good I'm going to put it after Massachusetts partnership project to Mimi and set we are taking a stance we are staying that our community not just our kids in our school that our communities are better I know that hmh guides us we are we can glance and it lays it out and we can dig in there and we have our skills and our strategies and they'll of anchor charts like her journals we use the half sheets for the journal and then we lift him up and we make him work and we don't forget about it I'm able to see differentiated data for all of my student and that allows me to prove them place them remediate is needed I'm able to focus on the skills that they actually need is fine like it's fun to be able to learn or on the system and the program he was able to assist me and trying to figure out how to bridge the two to make you know the class run smoothly she comes during our filthy you planning meetings to just kind of work more with what we kind of need as a group or a grade level and then again she does help us individually this project has taken that strong emphasis off of them performing at a certain likes all of them and meeting them where at to watch them grow it's not about hitting a number anymore it's about helping them grow to become better readers in general not just passing the test we are investing in our future you want the best
