Summer Feeding 2026
All Burke County Public School Students Participate in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP)
By participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and eliminating the need for meal applications, Burke County Public Schools will reduce administrative and printing costs. Families also benefit from the elimination of completing and submitting meal applications.
Children need healthy meals to learn. Burke County Public Schools offers healthy meals every school day at no charge to your child(ren). Our food service receives support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
The following schools will be participating in this alternative provision and provide meals at no charge to children:
Waynesboro Primary School, Blakeney Elementary School, SGA Elementary School, Burke County Middle School, Burke County Academy of Success, Burke County Life Center, and Burke County High School
The program, called the Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP, is funded by the US Department of Agriculture as a means of ensuring students get the food they need to do their best at school. Studies show that when students are hungry, they are often distracted in the classroom, they are absent from school more often, and score lower on standardized tests. This Federally-funded program will allow all students attending Burke County Public Schools to receive breakfast and lunch at school at no cost to the student or their household, and no school meals application is required.
